Artikel 68.(1) Der Bundespräsident ist für die Ausübung seiner Funktionen der Bundesversammlung gemäß Artikel 142 verantwortlich.(2) Zur Geltendmachung dieser Verantwortung ist die Bundesversammlung auf Beschluß des Nationalrates oder des Bundesrates vom Bundeskanzler einzuberufen. (3) Zu einem Beschluß, mit dem eine Anklage im Sinne des Artikels 142 erhoben wird, bedarf es der Anwesenheit von mehr als der Hälfte der Mitglieder jedes der beiden Vertretungskörper und einer Mehrheit von zwei Dritteln der abgegebenen Stimmen.

第68条(1) 連邦大統領は、その職務の行使に関しては、第142条により、連邦総会に責任を負う。(2) この責任を有効とするために、連邦首相は、国民議会または連邦参議院の決議に基づき、連邦総会を召集することとする。 (3) 第142条の意義における弾劾が提起される決議には、各両代議機関議員の半数以上の出席、および投ぜられた票の３分の２の多数を要する。

Art. 68.(1) Pursuant to Art. 142, the Federal President is responsible to the Federal Assembly for the exercise of his functions.(2) To assert this responsibility, the Federal Assembly shall on the vote of the National Council or the Federal Council be convoked by the Federal Chancellor. (3) The presence of more than half the members of each of the two representative bodies and a majority of two thirds of the votes cast is requisite to a vote whereby a charge, consonant with Art. 142, is preferred against the Federal President.
