ACT 2
≪Satanella≫
The Satanella and Harlequinade were performed by a day shift.
And the casting were also changed day by day.I saw Cassidy and
Hernandez in Tokyo(5/8)and Toyama(6/7).I don't know the background
of this ballet but could feel the very bright atmosphere like the Venise.
(Because they said this pas de deux was performed at 1859 for the
first time as the title"Le Carnaval de Venise")Cassidy and Hernandez
showed us the attractiveness of classical ballet enough in a short time,
not only the ballet fan and experts but also for the people who have
seen the classical ballet for the first time.
And the impression of the stage was different,of course,if there was
or wasn't this piece(in Yokosuka Act2 was started from"Cry baby Kreisler").
It was a good chance for me to see this performance for the first time.
And by being performed this ballet,I thought, the opening of Act2 had
a bright impression.

≪Harlequinade≫
I saw this performance in Tokyo(5/9)performed by Trevitt and Anna,
Matthew and Mayumi Kondo in Kanazawa(6/5).
Trevitt was played the role of Arlequin very well especially to express
the full of Loving heart to Anna, wearing the black mask on eyes,
and through the mask his eyes were looking only to the Lady(Colonbine
>I'm very sorry I don't know the right spelling of the role of the lady)
and courted.
Matthew's Arleqin was played the gesture which meant "be quiet" very
impressively. As if he'd like to avoid quarreling with the Lady and didn't
want to get into trouble with her.Mayumi performed her role so charmingly,
giving a little bit temptation for Matthew's Arlequin.Their combination
was also very well.

≪Cry Baby Kreisler≫
This performance gave a very surprising and amazing impression for us.
A piano was ready on the stage and Gary(or Cassidy)was playing
earnestly the keyboard. He was something of a nervous artist and
managed to play the piano. But the piano wouldn't turn out as his wish.
Then from the lid of piano,Benjamin appeared slowly wiggling her body
as a spirit of piano. And they danced as their bodies wiggling each other
and showed us the very difficult techniques.
Benjamin hanged herself down the lid of piano and closed it by a leg
and hands, and danced on the piano fascinatingly.Gary(or Cassidy)managed
to play it(Benjamin, the spirit of piano)but he couldn't do well.
The quarrel of them sometimes imagined me like one of a universal
couple of man and woman.(For example,Benjamin kicked Gary(or Cassidy)
by her toe and Gary(or Cassidy)struck Benjamin's hip lightly.)
But the most amazing things were the techniques and the partner
ships of them.Keeping the legs stretched 180 degrees,Benjamin was
held by Gary(or Cassidy)upside down, and her leg got twisted his neck.
The steps of Benjamin were so complex that her toes seemed the keen
music itself.
They were hardly mingled and at last pulling the lid of the piano on,
they lay down and fell into a sleep together. And only their faces in profile
were lighted in the darkness.

<From Royal Ballet to K-Company>
This is the title which I(and many people who have seen might feel)
was called.
On the screen, the image of flowing clouds in the sky which was
remembered the"Time"passed by,and at the two sides of the stage,
two"Flags"were hanging. We could imagine easily, the One was the Royal
Ballet and the Other was K−Ballet. As following Kumakawa, other five male
dancers also respected the Flag of Royal Ballet sincerely, and went to
the K‐Ballet's.
Then the screen were opened and we could see the DANCERS and
STUFFS were ready to the"Stage".(Of course,This was performed
"On the stage.")They were putting themselves at ease and started
the lesson. On the stage we could see the figure of the Choreographer
Haruka Ueda and the Conductor Kazuo Fukuda(in Tokyo).
And there was the recitation of poem by William Trevitt.
It was the quotation from "the TEMPEST"written by William Shakespeare.
The content was the poem spoken by Prospero, the right Duke of Milan.
But here it was the message from K−Ballet Company. They mentioned,
expressed their respects for Royal Ballet and great Thankfulness to the
audiences, that they would like to fly by their own wings.
This part was the original composition and I thought Kumakawa would
like to say the stage wasn't made up of only dancers, and I believed
the most of audiences should be able to realize the meanings.
After the recitation, the DANCERS stopped the lesson and turned
their back to the audiences. Then at the moment they turned around,
the white back screen rose and "the scenery of the sheets of a hall"
like a Opera House appeared!
They danced as the scenery on their backs and the audiences could
see the view that was from the DANCERS.And we realized that we
were also involved in "the Stage" as the role of Audiences.

 ≪Concerto in F≫
"F"means Free,Forever,Flying, etc. And I just want to add the
meaning of Future.Last year Kumakawa appeared on a Japanese movie,
the same title"F".(The role was especially similar to himself, the Royal
Ballet dancer Fumiya Furuse injured by lesson and returned to Japan
while he was treated himself. He started a second−job as Radio D.J.
and through the Radio he met the woman whom he had met once again.)
In Japan, some people knew him by the media as TV,CM,Newspapers,
magazines and this movie. It wasn't always bad thing, but it might be a
little"reverse",so the other people are anxious about it. But I think
to see "the stage" is the answer.
This performance were used by the music of Mozart.
And the scenery was risen and in stead of it the white curtain fell
two sides and the three chandeliers fell down, and on the back of
the stage there were white pillars(made by white stones(marble)as
the foundation and white curtain was fell down as just fitted in the
stones(marble))that were lighted like the "Parthenon".
Now,the climax of the stage should be ready. The DANCERS,the female
dancers and the six male dancers,of K−Ballet Company started dancing
as they were. The corps de ballet were harmonized and through the
female dancers the six male dancers and the guest female dancers
danced their each of solos and the combinations one after another.
There were the combinations of Cassidy(and Gary)and two ballerina,
which means one male dancer with two female dancers, and the twin dance
of Trevitt and Kumakawa(or Matthew),and the pas de deux of Nunn and
Benjiamin,Kumakawa and Benjiamin,of course, those were so gorgeous and
brilliant.
They finished their harmonizing dance with the climax of the melody
and the great applause filled with the hall.
But this wasn't the final.Kumakawa were standing on the stage as
his back to the audiences, with his right hand over the top. With the
five male dancers on the stage, they were dancing again on the music
of Bizet.(the same music as the opening but here were only male
dancers!)
They performed the best of their solos which were the most triumphed.
Then they grasped their hands to hands each other and the stage looked
like to be finished.
But "the curtain call" was performed on "the stage"! They showed
"the back of the stage" on the Stage again. The curtain were prepared
on the Stage, and the audiences could see "the back of curtain call".
They returned from "the curtain" one after another to the Stage and
lastly Kumakawa returned to the Stage with the Red Roses in his hand.
At last leaving the flowers on the middle of the stage,he should go to
the Next Stage. The spotlight only lighted the Red Roses.
                                〜Fin〜

 PS.Kumakawa(=Teddy)appeared more again,presented the flowers
 throwing to the audiences.
