Sea Slug from the Japan Sea coasts of Middle Japan

In 1950 The Takaoka High School biological club began investigation of the Opisthobranchs that live in Toyama Bay.

After graduation they formed ‘Takaoka Biological Club’ and continued their investigations.


Until 2001 they did so with the guidance of Dr. Kikutaro Baba - a world authority

on Opisthobranchia - who sadly passed away in November that year.


During that time the range of the investigation had spread to
Enter Sea Slug World     include the Japan Sea coasts of Middle Japan

  from Oki Island in Shimane to Fukaura in Aomori.

  This site introduces the summary of observations

     made in 170 areas over the past 52 years.
